Dave Taylor AKA SoulDeep Inc. is no stranger to the world of House Music. Having discovered House at the very beginning of the movement as a teenager and having played at the classic Blackburn(UK) parties in the late 1980’s, it was a smooth transition to go from DJ to Producer. AJ Mora is considered one of Los Angeles most influential dance music Producers, Remixers, and DJs. He co-founded Aquaboggie records, an independent Los Angeles based label with domestic and international success. Juan Smooth began his DJ career in 1988 as a mobile DJ in the city of Los Angeles. Soon after he would be given his big break into that club seen at the lengendary club, The Red Onion. It was at that club were the entertainment manager at the time added Smooth to his name after listening to his flawless smooth style of mixing and blending.
Juan Smooth began producing and remixing in 1995. By 1997, Juan and long time friend, DJ Moussie released their first EP tittled Nu Dimensions on Grumpy Records. One of the tracks on their Nu Dimensions EP, Da Feeling , was later licensed and released by VWAX Records on Artie The One Man Party’s – House Essentials 1 Mixed CD.
DJ Octopuz is a South Africa DJ who began his path to producing in 1993 when he started to DJ at the age of seventeen. In 2005 DJ Octopuz began producing and his career has grown since his first release as he continues to be approched by different artist to remix and/or produce their albums. Over the year’s he’s received great reviews from respected industry leaders. His most recent and first project with House Tribe Records is a remix of Holding On Part 2 by George JJ Flores as part of the South Africa Sessions.
Peacy P was indtruced to DJ’ing in 2003 while working along side DJ Scribre. He’s held residencies at venues in and outside South Africa. Locally he’s done several guess apperances on various radio stations. Most recently he’s been given the oppourtunity to mix live on an international level by doing guess spots on Modern Soul Radio (a show hosted by Santino Cassnova and David Montoya) and Newage Soul (hosted by Dj Tommy Toonz Valenzula in Los Angeles). His most recent and first project with House Tribe Records is a remix of Holding On Part 2 by George JJ Flores.
Jerry Flores came to Los Angeles after moving from Mexico City in 1986. His introduction to House Music was in 1993 while listening to a local radio station. In 1995 Jerry found his true calling to DJ’ing and began to emulate his idols as he studied thier programing techniques of mixing in order to keep his music fresh and exciting for his club pratrons.
In 2000 he achieved his dream and got the chance to play at the legendary after-hours club , “Does Your Mama Know”, were some of the best DJs around the world had played.
Jerry added another chapter to his life in 2004 by collaborating with DJ/Producer Jesse “Outlaw” Hinojosa as a co-producer on their first release, The 12:03 a.m. Dub project. Other projects Jerry was been involved in are: Soulato’s “So good, So real” (2006), Alysha “Music to my ears” (2007), and Lamech “Come together” (2008).
In 2007 he joined the In Soul We Trust mixshow family and created his own show called “Late Night Vibes” which quickly gained popularity among the House Music community.
Funky House Tribe is a production team composed of two childhood friends who share the same passion for music. George Vibe has been a night club disc jokey with many radio guess appearances for over 15 years and Jerry Martinez has been a musician all his life. Jerry Martinez refined his musical talent as a graduate of Musicians Institution (MI) in Hollywood, California. It was at MI where Jerry Martinez worked with some of the best producers and engineers in the industry. As a team their musical style varies from Hip-Hop to 80′s to Latin to the genre that they love and which brought them together as Funky House Tribe, HOUSE MUSIC!
